NBRC Offers Training and Competitive Programs
NBRC’s mission is to offer instruction, training and racing for all interested individuals. Masters refers to the age category for regattas, 21+, and includes people of all skill levels. Thanks to the mild climate and protected waterway of the Petaluma River, at North Bay Rowing Club we row year round, both training and readying ourselves for races. NBRC’s Masters program offers coached and independent sweep and sculling. Read more about the different kinds of rowing here.
NBRC promotes and supports equal opportunity for all rowers; Every member, regardless of age, ability or competitive spirit, can find a community of like-minded rowers within the club.
NBRC Masters attend regattas annually. Spring and summer are for sprint races, which are 1,000 meters for Masters and 2,000 meters for Juniors. In the fall, we compete in 5,000-meter “head” races around the area and have competed in the San Diego Crew Classic as well. Those who are interested in racing are encouraged and coached to achieve their goals. NBRC is flexible about competition, though. Your schedule and needs season to season will dictate your training regimen. Our entire club also works to host our own regatta on the first Sunday of October, the Wine Country Rowing Classic. Traditionally, a NBRC novice crew is allowed to compete in this regatta on the Petaluma River.
